Three free tools that read live data

No signup, no email, nothing stored. Each one queries a public source at the moment you press the button and shows you what came back.

Tool 01

Domain age checker

When a domain was first registered, who it is registered with, and when it expires — straight from RDAP, the registries' own replacement for WHOIS. A publication that started publishing the same year it started accepting contributions is worth a second look.

A bare domain or a full URL — both work.

Tool 02

Keyword idea generator

The phrases people actually type, pulled live from Google, Bing and YouTube autocomplete and expanded with question words. Grouped by intent, because that is the decision the list has to support.

What this cannot tell you: search volume. Volume comes from Keyword Planner or a paid tool, and any free tool showing you a volume number beside an autocomplete phrase is showing you an estimate it invented.

Tool 03

On-page SEO checker

Fetches the URL and reads it the way a crawler does: status, redirect chain, indexability, title and description width in pixels rather than characters, canonical, headings and response time.

Public pages only. Nothing is stored and the page's content is never returned.

What is not here

Three tools everyone offers that cannot honestly be free

Traffic checker

Traffic estimates come from clickstream panels that cost six figures a year to license. Free traffic checkers either resell a sliver of that data or model it from rank, and the error bars are wide enough to make the number decorative.

Domain authority score

Domain Rating and Domain Authority are Ahrefs' and Moz's own models, computed over their own crawls. There is no free equivalent, and a tool that invents its own score and calls it DA is inventing a number, not measuring one.

Live rank checker

Checking a position means querying Google automatically, which its terms prohibit and its bot detection blocks. The tools that do it anyway buy proxy networks. Use Search Console — it is free, it is yours, and it is the actual data.

We would rather publish three tools that work than nine that guess. If you want the numbers those three would have given you, measured properly against your own page, that is what the audit is.
